Writing Update: On a Roll Again...
The break is over...the flow is back...
Introduction…
I’m really late for this…but to be fair…I had a church event going on…there wasn’t much time to write or anything…so here we are…I actually wrote a fair amount…was most of it today? Yes…yes it was…but that doesn’t really matter…as long as it gets done…
Current Word Count…
Since my last update…I’ve written 1,049 words…which I am quite happy about…WtTB is now at 11,486 words! I’m going to be doing some calculations and creating a schedule sometime soon to try and calculate when I will be done with my first draft…I will be working on that over this week…now that I am back from my vacation trip…I’m trying to get focused on more “work” related things…
How the Story is Going…
Working on WtTB is a lot of fun…but it can be quite challenging…I’ve mentioned that I’m working backward…it makes it fairly easy…but the last part I wrote and the one I’m working on now are quite challenging…those would be the final part of the…I suppose I could say “Christian message”…though that doesn’t give it much justice…but that’s the simplest way I can put it…then there’s the part where the villain’s motives are revealed…they’re hard…but not so hard that they’re giving me crippling writer’s block…so that is very good…
Changes…
Lately I have been thinking of several changes I may or may not make…most of them will likely be changed after I finish the first draft…others I haven’t written the original idea yet…so I’ll just write the new ideas…and for some others, I’ll be writing it with the changes…then going back and changing the things already written before to match…Some of these things are fairly simple to change…such as my main character’s weapon of choice…others might be a little bit more complicated…like getting rid of the flashbacks to instead weave the information into the main story…Of course…not all of these changes are final…we’ll see how it goes when I’m done with the first draft…
Future Plans…
For the next several weeks I’ll be doing quite a bit of reviews when it’s not a writing update week…I’m going to be pre-writing them and scheduling them…mainly because I read a lot of stuff that I want to share and review while they’re fresh in my mind…so…sadly…it’s unlikely I’ll post any snippets…but it depends…due to pre-writing the posts…I might start posting twice a week instead of once…I have noticed that making writing updates has really made me feel obligated to write more…keeping me somewhat accountable…for example…today I knew I had to write a post…and because I’d barely written much…I forced myself to write…and I got a lot of good work done…so maybe weekly writing updates will help…I’ll leave a poll at the end of this post so y’all can let me know what y’all would like…
In Conclusion…
Life for me is getting more fun and more busy…and I’m okay with that…I’m really excited to keep this going and to get a lot of writing done…thank you all for tagging along…also…it’s getting close to three months since I started When the Thoughts Spill Over… and I’m quite happy that I’ve been able to keep it going and for all my friends who have been supporting me through it… :)
