Writing Update: It's Been a While...
But I'm Doing So Much Better...
Introduction…
So…I know it’s been forever since I’ve posted a writing update…I have several reasons…actually…you guys weren’t seeing it…but I actually wasn’t writing any posts…a while ago I scheduled a bunch of them so they’ve just been getting posted without me doing anything…last week’s post was the first time I wrote a post since my last writing update…then I scheduled next week’s post…and now I’m writing this one…a day late…but also several months late…I will explain what’s been going on and how my writing is going in this post…so…I’m sorry it’s been a while…but life’s been crazy…
Life…
As y’all know…I graduated earlier this year…and it really hit me a couple of months ago that I’m never going back to school…so that made writing really hard for me…I did a lot of reading though…27 books in September…I’ve finally got back into writing fairly consistently…I also started taking care of myself more…I converted a walk-in closet to an office/reading space which I’ve been using quite a lot…I’ll share pictures once I get it decorated…it might be a while…my computer is falling apart…but luckily this “office” kinda helps it sit comfortably…so it makes writing so much easier…so I’m really trying to keep consistent with these now…
Current Word Count…
So…I reached another milestone somewhat…where I passed 15,000 words…yay…my last update WtTB was at 12,816…but now it’s at 16,317 words…that’s 3,501 words since my last update…which seems like a lot…but really isn’t considering how long it’s been…but I’m still very happy about it…
Be Okay With Crappy…
This has kinda been my motto the past week or so…because I can edit bad writing but I can’t edit nothing…so I’ve just been trying to write even if it’s terrible…I can fix it later…srsly…I recently wrote a paragraph with the word “dog” in like every sentence…but this has helped me…another great thing is I found a way to change the beginning(not the first paragraph cuz that’s perfect…but after that)…in a way that fixes the lack of thriller aspect in what’s supposed to be a thriller novel…and also make the romance seem more natural…so all good things…Another good thing…especially for the people who know Lucian…he’s getting quite a bit more time in the book than he was going to originally…because he was just gonna have one scene…but now he’ll have a few more…so y’all will be able to know my sweet little baby…
In Conclusion…
There’s a competition going on on Ydubs…so that’s been keeping me writing…and I’m just hoping to continue with this flow…I’ve pushed my goal for finishing the first draft to the end of the year…and I keep pushing that goal…but I have no firm deadlines…I’m just working at my own pace…at this point…realizing how long this is taking…I’m just keeping a goal for having it published by the end of next year…we will see…I’ll be able to tell more when I finish the first draft…Thank you all for putting up with me…y’all are awesome!
