Book Review: The Zheninghai Chronicles Part 2...
Guardians of Talons and Snares/Warrior of Blade and Dusk...

Introduction…
This is my second to last review of the books I’ve read by Anastasis Blythe…at least for this year…I know I will be posting at least one more review of one of her books next year…but as I already scheduled all my posts for this year before I read it it didn’t fit…which is fine…I’m sure y’all will appreciate reviews of some different books…Anyway…in this post I will be reviewing the second part of The Zheninghai Chronicles which includes two books…Guardians of Talons and Snares and Warrior of Blade and Dusk…I enjoyed this second part more than the first one…I liked the length of it…I always prefer when a series follows the same couple over more than one book…but I also enjoyed the characters and plot more…
The Story…
I enjoyed the story…it’s about two new graduates from The Academy who, after a mix-up, were stationed at the same place when there was only room for one new recruit…both have their own reasons to want the job and they are given a challenge that whoever does best gets to keep the job…but even that is derailed when they are employed to find several missing people, all of which are incredibly powerful…it’s quite fun… their antics made me laugh and of course watching them go from almost hating each other…to loving each other…
The Characters…
The characters were awesome…the two MCs were great…I loved how Aranya was an incredibly talkative person…but it wasn’t portrayed as a weakness…but instead as just a part of her personality…Kai was a very interesting character with a lot of secrets and it was enjoyable to watch each layer be pulled away to finally discover who he really was and his past…Then there’s Delan…who was a magnificent side character…he was an older guy who was put in charge of their mission…but over time he kind of adopts the MCs…and it’s amazing…
The Romance…
It was beautiful…Kai is kinda a flirt…Aranya just wants a job to take care of her grandfather…and they really don’t like each other…but seeing them slowly learn to trust each other…and seeing their relationship grow…it was just so fun!
Content Warnings…
Kinda just copy pasting my CWs from my last review…cuz it’s rly the same…It’s quite clean…the author recommends it for 12+…but the only things are some kissing and violence…it really isn’t intense…
In Conclusion…
Both Guardians of Talons and Snares and Warrior of Blade and Dusk are fun and exciting books that I enjoyed…they end wonderfully…and they make me happy…I occasionally go back and read my favorite parts when I’m bored…
