Introduction…
I have been reading so much this week…it was a little hard to decide which book to review…but…I decided that this week “The Reappearance of Rachel Price” by Holly Jackson was my favorite…it’s also the only standalone I read…which I’m more inclined to review due to each book in a series being different…so I’d want to review each book separately…which would mean I’d like to review the first book first…but I haven’t read the first book in a series in a while due to taking longer to read the other books…so it’s not as fresh in my brain…
Now that you’ve tolerated my rambling…I hope…sorry about that…on to the review…
The Story…
“The Reappearance of Rachel Price” is a mystery about a girl whose mother disappeared and then reappeared sixteen years later…and all the tangled up mysteries and lies that surround both events…The story was full of insane plot twists that I never saw coming…
The Characters…
I loved all the characters in the story…they were interesting and relatable…but they surprised me so many times…making it quite enjoyable…it was easy to get behind the “good” characters and hate the “bad” ones…which was wonderful…
My Thoughts…
I’ve read books by this author before… specifically her “A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder” series…and loved those books…I knew to expect crazy plot twists…I wasn’t disappointed…even though I suspected every single character of being guilty…(what I had learned from AGGGTM)…I was still incredibly shocked…The way Holly Jackson twisted my perception of the characters and her subtle foreshadowing that I didn’t notice before it was too late…had me audibly gasping…I hit my desk at school, I was so shocked…my teacher simply said “Good book?”…to which I nodded…
In conclusion…“The Reappearance of Rachel Price” had plot twists on top of plot twists…on top of plot twists…It was a wonderful, gripping, and exciting read that I would read again and again…I would also recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good mystery…
CWs…
I know some of my readers would like to see any content warnings that the book may have…I am happy to oblige…in this book, there is…cursing, violence, and intense peril…also some light romance…
Like how much cursing?
...and how bad?
